Description

Delicious fluffy buttermilk biscuits that are perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Place the stick of butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour the dough over the melted butter in the baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Score the dough into 9 squares using a butter knife.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp around the edges.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving warm with your favorite toppings.
