Description

A delicious chicken casserole that’s creamy, cheesy, and topped with buttery Ritz crackers.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken mixture.
  5. Bake casserole uncovered in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • For a healthier option, you can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
