Description

A delicious blueberry bake made with buttermilk, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and pour into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Fold in the blueberries gently to avoid crushing.
  5. Transfer the dough into the buttered baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Score the top into 9 squares using a knife.
  7. Bake for 25–28 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm with honey or jam if desired.
