Description

This is a quick and easy chocolate cake mix that can be stored for later use.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup dry milk (instant, nonfat)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together dry ingredients above and store in separate baggies with a note on the front indicating the following wet ingredients needed to prepare it into batter: 1 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 3 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  2. When preparing batter, add your mix with wet ingredients.
  3. Use a mixer on low to combine well so it is smooth.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  5. If baking two round cake pans, it will take 20-25 minutes; cupcakes will take 15-18 minutes.
  6. Lightly spray pans with non-stick spray or use muffin liners.

Notes

  • This recipe is for chocolate cake. For yellow cake, omit the cocoa powder.
