Description
A quick and flavorful beef stir-fry with vegetables served over rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Optional: Sriracha, for some extra heat
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes until thoroughly combined.
- Add the sauce mix to the browned beef in the skillet. Stir well, allowing the mixture to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Stir in the shredded carrots and sliced bell pepper, mixing well. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
- While the meat and vegetables are cooking, prepare your rice according to package instructions if not yet cooked.
- To assemble, scoop rice into bowls and top with the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation. Consider adding Sriracha for some heat if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less crushed red pepper and Sriracha.
- Feel free to substitute vegetables based on your preference.
