Description

A refreshing and nutritious smoothie made with spinach, bananas, and a touch of chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large handful baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup milk (of choice, I use dairy)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (I use 2% or full-fat, but nonfat will work)
  • 1 1/2 medium bananas (frozen)
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 Medjool date (pitted, can add another if you like more sweet smoothies)
  • 1/23/4 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate (finely chopped, plus more for topping)

Instructions

  1. Add the spinach leaves, milk, and Greek yogurt to a blender and blend to break up the greens.
  2. Add the banana, date(s), and peppermint and vanilla extract and blend again until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add up to another ¼ cup milk.
  3. Add the chocolate chips and pulse the blender to break up the chocolate pieces (but not completely blend them into the smoothie).
  4. Serve topped with more chocolate.

Notes

  • This smoothie is perfect for a quick breakfast or a post-workout snack.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more dates if desired.
