Description
A refreshing and nutritious smoothie made with spinach, bananas, and a touch of chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large handful baby spinach
- 1/2 cup milk (of choice, I use dairy)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (I use 2% or full-fat, but nonfat will work)
- 1 1/2 medium bananas (frozen)
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 Medjool date (pitted, can add another if you like more sweet smoothies)
- 1/2–3/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp dark chocolate (finely chopped, plus more for topping)
Instructions
- Add the spinach leaves, milk, and Greek yogurt to a blender and blend to break up the greens.
- Add the banana, date(s), and peppermint and vanilla extract and blend again until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add up to another ¼ cup milk.
- Add the chocolate chips and pulse the blender to break up the chocolate pieces (but not completely blend them into the smoothie).
- Serve topped with more chocolate.
Notes
- This smoothie is perfect for a quick breakfast or a post-workout snack.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more dates if desired.
