Description

A delicious festive treat combining dark and white chocolate with crunchy peppermint.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 grams dark chocolate (good quality for gloss and flavor)
  • 150 grams white chocolate (creamy and melts smoothly)
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional, for extra flavor)
  • pinch sea salt (optional, enhances sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate gently using a double boiler or microwave, heating in 30-second bursts and stirring until smooth and glossy.
  4. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared parchment, spreading it into an even layer with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle a generous layer of crushed peppermint candies over the still-warm dark chocolate, pressing them lightly into the surface.
  6. Chop the white chocolate into small pieces and place in a separate heatproof bowl.
  7. Melt the white chocolate using the same gentle method until smooth and creamy.
  8. Pour the melted white chocolate over the dark layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  9. Sprinkle more crushed peppermint candies on top of the white chocolate before it sets, pressing lightly to help them stick.
  10. Allow the peppermint bark to set at room temperature for about 1 hour, or refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until firm.
  11. Once fully hardened, break the bark into irregular shards and enjoy this festive, crunchy treat!
