- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture until smooth.
- Gently stir in the red food coloring until the desired pink hue is achieved.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- While cooling, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once cookies are completely cool, frost each cookie with the cream cheese frosting.
