Description
A delicious slow-cooked beef chuck roast that’s tender and full of flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch pieces
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup sliced green onions (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the beef chuck roast into 1-inch pieces and place it in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the beef, ensuring that all pieces are well coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before the cooking time is up, check the beef for tenderness. It should be fork-tender when done.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking or transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer until thickened.
- Once the beef is tender, give it a gentle stir and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
Notes
- Allow the roast to rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juices.
- Adjust seasoning as preferred.
