Description
A delicious and refreshing fruit salad made with fresh strawberries, bananas, and a creamy dressing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 2 ripe bananas
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 container whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream)
- 1 cup granola
Instructions
- Prepare Your Fruits: Wash the fresh strawberries, hull them, and slice them into bite-sized pieces. Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds. If not mixing right away, toss banana slices with a tiny squeeze of lemon juice to prevent browning. Set aside in separate bowls.
- Whip Up the Cream Cheese Base: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until fully incorporated and light and creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Fold in the Whipped Topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream) into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Combine Fruits and Dressing: Add the prepared strawberry and banana slices to the creamy dressing and gently fold until the fruit is just coated, taking care not to mash the bananas.
- Chill for Perfection: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the salad to firm up.
- Add the Crunch and Serve: Just before serving, sprinkle granola over the top or add it to individual servings to maintain crunchiness. Serve immediately.
