Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Description

A delicious creamy chicken lasagna recipe with layers of noodles, cheese, chicken, and spinach.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for another minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer until sauce thickens, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Remove from heat and stir in half of the Parmesan cheese.
  7. Spread a thin layer of white sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Layer noodles, chicken, spinach, mozzarella, and more sauce.
  9. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and remaining Parmesan on top.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  12. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • This lasagna can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables or seasonings to your preference.
