Description
Delicious bite-sized churro pieces coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (Use flour for a light texture.)
- 1/2 cup water (Hot water helps to form the dough.)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (Can substitute with coconut oil for dairy-free.)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (For flavoring the dough.)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (Helps the churro bites rise.)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (Adds a nice flavor.)
- 1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon (For the cinnamon-sugar coating.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, and salt over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder until well combined. Fold in the vanilla extract after forming a cohesive dough.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly before transferring it to a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off.
- Pipe small bite-sized pieces onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the churro bites are golden brown.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Once baked, let the churro bites cool slightly, then toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated. Serve warm.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is fully melted in the water before adding the flour.
- Cooling the dough slightly helps with piping.
- Experiment with different flavors in the dough.
