A deliciously sweet and tangy slow cooker orange chicken dish perfect for any dinner.

- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Toss chicken pieces in flour until fully coated.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the chicken for 1–2 minutes on each side.
- Transfer browned chicken to the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours until chicken is tender.
- In the last 30 minutes, mix cornstarch and water and stir into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
- Serve over rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by omitting the crushed red pepper flakes if you prefer a milder dish.
- Serve with steamed rice or your favorite grain.
