Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- Your favorite toppings (e.g., sausage, peppers, mushrooms)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water and yeast until frothy. Add flour, salt, and olive oil; stir to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and add Italian seasoning if desired.
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Grease a deep dish pan with olive oil.
- Roll out the risen dough into a circle slightly larger than your pan. Place it in the greased pan, pressing it up the sides.
- Layer half of the mozzarella cheese on the crust first to prevent sogginess, followed by your chosen toppings and remaining cheese. Pour sauce evenly on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- Adding Italian seasoning to the dough can enhance the flavor.
- Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
